Apple smells, floating in the air, my mother, aunts, Peel, core and slice apples, for their mother to cook up to dark brown color. Granny Laura would add its spices and stir the hot mixture of sugar and Apple has learned the best until the Apple butter can.
It was the day all come together. My cousins and I played in the yard. Sometimes we would be called to bring more wood to fire that Apple butter cooking at the same temperature throughout. Ðán My feast Birdine, for the fire, but he was known by off until Granny Laura only its name, loudly and clearly, he shall return and stoke the fire, or that one of us grandchildren from the flame.
When Granny Laura butter Apple was carried out, a clean canning jar would bring its and filled gradually. Grandpa Birdine would Tighten each jar by the lid then turn the jar upside down, so warm apple butter, the speed of the sealing glasses.
One of my aunts and my mother would be a large pan of biscuits to taste our daily work. It is not above the taste of the warm apple butter, cold butter and hot homemade biscuit, in a cool fall nights.
